Our customer is a company possessing a number of multilingual online stores. It has in-house marketing & content departments using in-house tools for marketing activities, including email marketing. The problem was that content managers created each newsletter from scratch or had to involve HTML coders which impacted both departments resulting in inefficient use of time and resources and lack of newsletters variability. So they asked IT Prosteer to provide the solution to solve this problem.
We interviewed stakeholders to find out their needs, pains, and wishes, researched current CMS to find out constraints and system limitations. We faced a number of challenges. The solution had to be integrated with the current CMS system both for import and export. The user had to have the possibility to create similar letters for several websites and locales, so the solution had to provide changing styles of website-based elements on the spot. The solution also had to be synchronized with the company’s online stores to provide relevant data for some elements (name, price, and description of the products inserted).
We developed an easy-to-use tool featuring predesigned components and a text editor. The Mail Builder was integrated with the CMS system to store newsletters and synchronize some components. It is also synchronized with the online stores’ database to import relevant data. As a bonus, the Mail Builder offers to view the letter in various resolutions and send test emails on the spot.
